Responsibilities:

• Assist lawyers with trademark and general IP prosecution matters, including searches, filing and handling of trademarks applications, response to formality objections to trademark application, conflicts, application appeals, oppositions and invalidations, post-trade mark registration recordals in Hong Kong and overseas
• Prepare and collate supporting documents relating to Hong Kong and overseas trade mark matters
• Provide legal support for discovery, research, basic due diligence
• Prepare monthly status reports for portfolio clients and maintain records in a database
• Assist with translation of legal documents
• Coordinate notarisation and legalisation processes
• Administration and follow-up of files, price-quotes, invoices and follow-up of billing.
• Manage attorney/agent calendars, manage meetings and prepare travel arrangements.
• Review critical dates and manage deadlines and support lawyers in overall processes of brand clearance, prosecution, management and enforcement.

• Diploma / degree holder
• At least 5 years IP / Trade Mark experience or law firm experience
• Excellent English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)
• Able to draft emails and correspondence independently
• Knowledge of IP management systems
• Proactive, organised, an eye for administrative precision, sense of responsibility, able to work alone and also in a team, eager to learn and flexible, able to cope with tight deadlines, motivated with a positive attitude.
• Excellent Chinese typing would be an advantage
