Simply English and Simply Learning Centres are growing learning centres in Siu Sai Wan, Ap Lei Chau and Austin. We primarily focus on language education (English, Mandarin, Chinese) for K1 – DSE students. We also have art and playgroup classes. We are teachers from the UK/US with over 15 years of experience teaching students in Hong Kong. Our goal is to provide the best educational services in the area.
We are looking for the right person to join our team and help us continue to be one of the best learning centres in Hong Kong. The job requires the person to be available to teach classes on the following days.
Monday: 15:00 - 18:30
Tuesday: 15:30 - 18:30
Wednesday: 15:30 - 16:30
Thursday: 15:30 - 18:30
Friday: 15:30 - 19:00
Saturday - 09:00 - 10:00, 13:00 - 17:00 (or just work full day with 1 hour lunch)

Responsibilities:

• Create an enjoyable atmosphere for learning with lots of energy and personality.
• Teach a diverse range of classes that includes students who are in kindergarten, primary and secondary levels (emphasis in HK curriculum in local schools - ages 3 - 17)
• Teach phonics, grammar, writing at the appropriate ages and levels.
• Assess students' language abilities objectively and accurately based on their age/level and school syllabus.
• Provide progress reports for students as necessary.
• Communicate with parents about their child’s performance and behaviour in lessons.
• Help sign-up new students and market the centre.
• Create course material and ad hoc material for lessons as needed.
• Mark homework and provide feedback for students on their work.

Requirements:

• Fluent Level English speaker with a clean accent.
• Candidate must genuinely enjoy teaching children, have patience, promote positivity and be enthusiastic with our students.
• Candidate needs to be responsible, reliable, punctual and committed.
• Must be at least a High-School graduate (Secondary School graduate).
• Must pass a language assessment at interview.

Candidates with these qualities will be considered first:

• HKID holder (will sponsor a visa for the right candidate).
• Have over 3 years teaching experience.
• Have a Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational .Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) certificate for diploma/degree if from overseas.
• TEFL certification (100-hr min) - training for our centre’s culture and methods will be provided.
• Familiar with Hong Kong curriculum for Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary students.

Training:

• On-the-job training will be provided as needed to fit our teaching methods and culture.

Pay: $160.00 - $275.00 per hour
