Job Summary: The Academic Counselor provides academic advising and support to students to help them succeed in their educational and career goals. This includes developing personalized academic plans, providing guidance on course selection, offering information on institutional policies, and connecting students with available resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Academic Advising: Assist students with academic planning, course selection, and registration.
- Provide advice on academic policies, degree requirements, and institutional resources.
- Student Support:Meet with students individually to provide personalized counseling on academic issues.
- Support students in overcoming academic, personal, or social challenges.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate student records, including documentation of advising sessions.
- Track students’ academic performance and identify at-risk students for intervention.
- Communication:
- Respond to student inquiries via email, phone, or in-person meetings in a timely manner.
- Communicate academic requirements and deadlines to students through newsletters, social media, or group presentations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a related field.
- Experience:1 years of experience in academic advising or counseling in an educational setting.
