Design Manager
A design manager oversees the design process for a creative project or department, ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet quality standards. Design managers have a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Managing teams: Design managers lead and motivate teams of designers, engineers, and architects.
- Ensuring quality: Design managers ensure that designs are high quality, easy to understand, and meet project specifications.
- Meeting deadlines: Design managers ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborating with clients: Design managers work with clients to ensure that their expectations are met.
- Maintaining documentation: Design managers keep thorough documentation of the design process.
- Keeping up with regulations: Design managers stay up to date with changing building legislation and codes of practice.
- Reviewing designs: Design managers review designs with health and safety in mind.
- Resolving issues: Design managers resolve design-related issues and implement modifications to meet project requirements.
- Graduate's or Bachelor's Degree in engineering, civil engineering, architecture or business.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with any of the following software and systems: In Design, UI Design, Auto CAD, CAD, HTML, CSS, and Agile
- A collaborator and problem solver.
- Prior experience in a similar role with transferrable skills.
- A leader in project design and negotiation.
- Will strive for organization transformation.
- Strict attention to detail and prioritization capabilities.
