Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Firmware Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of hands-on experience in firmware development, with a preference for those who have worked in the metrology field. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software for a variety of hardware platforms. Your expertise in firmware programming and debugging will play a critical role in the development of high-quality metrology devices and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for metrology devices.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with various hardware platforms.
Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize firmware to ensure reliability and performance.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Perform unit testing and validation of firmware functionality.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and product development.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to firmware and metrology.
Support production teams during firmware implementation and testing phases.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in embedded firmware development.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
Experience working with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex, PIC, etc.).
Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-power embedded systems.
Experience in firmware debugging using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
Understanding of hardware interfaces and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in metrology or measurement systems (energy meters, gas meters, etc.).
Familiarity with DLMS/COSEM or other metrology-related communication protocols.
Knowledge of sensor integration and calibration techniques.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration (CI) pipelines.
