Description:
The Technology Operations Center (TOC) database specialist performs technical analysis of issues and outages as they occur across Deloitte’s Core IT Systems. This individual also performs research to troubleshoot and resolve the issue or, depending upon complexity, escalates the issue to higher-level systems administrators and database engineers. The TOC database specialist is responsible for researching and documenting various mitigation strategies and must maintain a current and thorough knowledge of customer technologies and their significance to customer operations. This individual must be able to prioritize remediation of issues in a 24 x 7 environment with critical uptime requirements. The TOC database specialist may also perform basic system administration tasks such as network/system troubleshooting and executing various scripts.
Required technical skills/responsibilities:

• Experience in installing, configuring, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting SQL Server in MS SQL 2019/2017/2016 with Microsoft SQL Server Azure cloud (Iaa S and Paa S).
• MS SQL Server installation, configuration, performance tuning, client/server connectivity, query optimization, back-up/recovery, running Database consistency checks using DBCC.
• Database Backup, Recovery and Disaster Recovery procedures
• Troubleshooting Database issues.
• Maintaining Database Authentication Modes, Creation of users, configuring permissions and Assigning roles to users.
• Experience in implementing High Availability & Disaster Recovery solutions using Always ON, Clustering, Replication, Mirroring, Log Shipping & DR activity like (using Always On technology, storage level DR activity, Using Log shipping and mirroring)
• Hands on experience on setting up Multi subnet failover cluster for SQL cluster and Always on AG.
• Configure, setup and troubleshoot on SQL Clustering Active - Passive and Active- Active.
• Well experienced in troubleshooting issues like Always ON & Replication.
• Well experienced in analyzing Performance, Query optimization and tuning.
• Experience in Index Maintenance Index tuning, Rebuild Reorganizing accordingto Index fragmentation, running DBCC checks and Update Statistics to check Data Integrity.
• Extensively used tools like SQL Profiler (server-side trace), Index Tuning Wizard, Windows Performance Monitor, PSSDIAG Tool and Perfinsight tool for monitoring and tuning MS SQL Server performance.
• Azure Cloud Migration Services and Support: (SQL Paa S & Iaa S)?AWS Cloud Migration Services and Support
• Monitored and modified Performance using execution plans and Index tuning.
• Tuning and Optimization of Transact - SQL Stored Procedures.
• Using Performance Monitor/Profiler to solve Dead Locks/Long running queries
• Applying necessary SQL Server database service packs and windows patches.
• High Availability Solutions including SQL Server Clustering, Replication, Mirroring & SQL Always ON
• Experience in Database & Storage Security ( Such as TDE Transparent Data Encryption & VKM- Volumetric Key Encryption)
• Migration & Up gradation of different SQL Servers
• Implementing Changes on Production servers with the proper change management approach.
• Scripting (T-SQL, Power Shell) is desired
• Certifications on SQL Server or MS Azure or AWS is desired
• On-Call Support

Educational & Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science; Engineering or Equivalent
• Master's Degree in Computer Science; Engineering or Equivalent

Experience: 6+ years of experience.
Location: Hyderabad
Functional/Domain Knowledge

• Strong ITIL V3 knowledge (Minimum ITIL foundation certification preferred)
• Exposure to Cloud technologies
• Excellent English Communication/Presentation skills (Oral & Written).

Certifications

• Azure Database Administrator Associate
• Microsoft MCSA or other relevant certification
