POSITION SUMMARY:
We are searching for a Plant Manager who possesses the operational skills, leadership skills to operate effectively in a matrix environment and have confidence in driving aggressive growth plans. The person should have a consultative and collaborative style, proven track record / achievement. THE ROLE
This role is responsible for executing, implementing manufacturing strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximizing efficiency, optimizing production levels and driving operational excellence strategies and actions plans for the operational and productivity plan of the plant together with Global functional leaders (i.e. Innovation, Operations, Finance, HR, IT and Supply Chain) to achieve overall organization's objectives. In addition, this role would have to liaise with Multi-discipline team including support functions, to delight our Internal and External stakeholders.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.
The responsibilities of the role are to implement the required action plan, manage and implementing manufacturing strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximizing efficiency, optimizing production levels and driving operational excellence activities to support efforts to achieve the operational and productivity plan.

The assigned territories include Fluid Power businesses in India. The specific responsibilities will fall into three primary areas:

Maximum 3 pointers per accountability
Accountability #1: Customer (Internal / External Stakeholders)
  • Operate a process for safe selection of external contractors. In conjunction with the Purchasing team to ensure all external maintenance contracts are regularly reviewed to ensure best value.
  • Support project management to cross functional activity required for project execution
  • Implement a customer focused operational culture delivering world class customer service level
  • Overall responsibility for manufacturing activities across the business unit
  • Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance
  • Ensure that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process
  • Take ownership of the manufacturing policy, guidelines and any associated documents
  • Initiate and develop creative and innovative manufacturing processes

Accountability #2: Process / Performance
  • Initiate and develop creative and innovative manufacturing processes
  • Drive improvements in reliability for key aspects of machinery by completing reliability studies and identifying best planned maintenance strategy
  • Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance
  • Implement a customer focused operational culture delivering world class customer service levels
  • Coordinate team activities to optimize cost performance of the plant through capital investment programs, optimizing operating working capital usage and minimizing waste through the development of a continuous improvement culture encompassing lean principles and clear strategic development
  • Develop and manage master production schedule and operations budgets for products to directly support and ensure that the product is delivered to agreed cost, quality and timelines
  • Drive improvements in reliability for key aspects of machinery by completing reliability studies and identifying best planned maintenance strategy
  • Operate a process for safe selection of external contractors. In conjunction with the Purchasing team to ensure all external maintenance contracts are regularly reviewed to ensure best value
  • Support project management to cross functional activity required for project execution
  • Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, manufacturing and quality standards and procedures are adhered to
  • Operating within corporate guidelines and policies, has full responsibility for developing annual budgets for Manufacturing, Engineering and Maintenance, and ensuring that all expenditures affecting manufacturing and maintenance are met or exceeded on a monthly basis.
  • Utilizes systematic processes that meet or exceed the standards as set out in ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001 and Gates HSE Excellence Award

Accountability #3: People
  • Set department objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance
  • Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions
  • Provide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent reports Senior Managing Director - EA& I & will handle a team as a people manager.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS/ QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS
: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

This person must have at least 10 years hands on experience in management, operations, and leadership. in the assigned countries or region.

  • Minimum 10 years, proven track record in experience in management, operations, and leadership.
  • BE/ BTech (master's will be preferable) in Engineering

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets.
  • Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent business ethics and integrity.
