Project description

The primary goal of the project is the modernization, maintenance and development of an e Commerce platform for a big US-based retail company, serving millions of omnichannel customers each week.
Solutions are delivered by several Product Teams focused on different domains – Customer, Loyalty, Search and Browse, Data Integration, Cart.
Current overriding priorities are new brands onboarding, re-architecture, database migrations, migration of microservices to a unified cloud-native solution without any disruption to business.
Dev Ops team primarily builds applications for Customer/Profile, Login, and the API Gateway. The team supports the following: Graph QL as the API gateway between clients (Web and Mobile) and data service layer (Platform, Loyalty Integration), session management, customer profile, registration flows, registration emails, Platform API Gateway, login, APIM, customer shopping list, Third Party management, subscriptions, chatbot.

Responsibilities

Provision and maintain Linux VMs with Ia C tools.

Develop, deploy, and optimize Ia C scripts

Skills

Must have

Subject Matter Expertise in Linux and a Range of Open Source Technologies (OSS) (5 years experience):

Deep understanding of Linux system administration and operation. We do not consider candidates with basic knowledge of Linux;

Experience with self-hosted (non-Saa S) OSS technologies such as Nginx, Tomcat, Elastic Search, Kafka, Consul, Vault, etc;

Experience in Developing, Testing, Deploying, and Optimizing Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Salt;

Contribution to Establishing and Maintaining a Secure and Well-Managed Compute Environment (4 years experience):

Understanding of security principles and management of computing resources;

Experience with methods for ensuring system and data security;

Experience with Linux Virtual Machines (3 years experience):

Experience with multiple virtualizations (e.g. VMware, Proxmox);

Ability to configure, administer, and troubleshoot virtual machines;

Communication Skills and Self-Starter Attitude:

Excellent communication skills, especially for remote work;

Ability to work independently, manage time, and solve problems without constant supervision;

Nice to have

Experience with Azure Dev Ops Pipelines and Git Hub Actions:

Familiarity with setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines.

Strong Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

Experience working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment;

Ability to contribute to team success and share knowledge with peers.
