Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior System Implementation Engineer to join our Airports Team, based in Delhi, India We are seeking an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service who will have the following primary responsibilities, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Deploy full spectrum of Collins Aerospace Airports common use systems and products — at some of the worlds’ most prestigious airports within Asia Pacific.
- Install, update, and test new and existing airline and airport applications, configure common use workstations and peripherals. Install third party software products and integrate them into Collins Aerospace’s Airports common use and system integration products.
- Participate in deployment activities required for airports in APAC – Travel to customer sites, perform site surveys, interface with local technical personnel, and perform installation activities. Also assist in other critical projects at other airports within North America, EMEA regions and travel to other sites if and when necessary.
- Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
- Provide best practices for day-to-day operations, performance analysis, tuning and capacity planning for products deployed and suggest and implement performance improvements when necessary.
- Frequently interact with customers and coordinate with Airlines and Airport Authorities at airports regarding technical requirements, configurations and testing of airline and airport applications. Commission and hand over systems components and enhancements to customer representatives.
- Closely liaisons with the project management organization, account management, customer support and sales team for technical exchange of information and planning of operations.
- Work with 1st and 2nd level technical support and development teams and other cross departments to assist resolving engineering issues/problems. Actively addresses performance issues and risks. Interface with on-site maintenance personnel, provide 3nd level supports where needed in order to meet the Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering or related technical degree.
- Must be fluent in Japanese and English
- At least 5 years as a system engineer at an Enterprise IT company or managed services organization
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in implementation and troubleshooting of enterprise networks
- Must have the knowledge of Airports Technology and Standards and regulations set by ICAO and IATA for Airport Operations and Passenger Processing.
- Must have the knowledge of Airports Common Use system such as Common Use Passenger Processing (CUPPS), Common Use Self Service (CUSS), Common Use Web Services (CUWS), ITPS (IATA Technical Peripheral Specification, formerly Known as AEA) and international standards and regulations set by ICAO and IATA.
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
- Experience in the installation, configuration of Cisco routers, switches, ASA routers.
- Experience in SQL Databases and reporting such as MS SQL, Oracle and/or business intelligent tools such as MS SSRS, Power BI, Tableau
- Have knowledge and experience in virtualization, containerization technologies such as Dockers, Red Hat Open Shift and Kubernetes, etc.
- Experience in dealing with cloud service providers in AWS (amazon web services), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
- Experience on implementation, administration and troubleshooting virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Oracle Virtual Box)
- Experience on implementation, administration and troubleshooting Microsoft Window Servers.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in windows scripting, task automation and command line tools Robo Copy, SC and scripting language such as Power Shell, VBA, etc.
- Travel required (30-50%)
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience
It is desired that candidate has:
- Monitoring application such as Whats Up Gold, Zabbix, etc.
- Network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools.
- Coding languages for scripting (e.g., Visual Basic, Html Markup, Python)
- Cisco Certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or CCDP, etc.,)
- VMware v Sphere Certification or Equivalent
- Cloud Architect Certification (AWS, MS Azure, Google, or Oracle)
- Airports and Airlines Applications, Departure Control Systems,
- Airport IT systems and environment, Airport Operations and Systems Integration and/or with any of the following: Common use check-in/boarding systems and peripherals, FIDS, Overhead Signage, Self-service check-in, Self Bag Drop (SBD) and Automated Self Boarding (SBG), Biometrics and IDMP (Identity Management Platforms)
- IATA Common Use Passenger Processing and Baggage Standards IATA CUPPS, CUSS, CUWS Recommended Practices and/or Resolutions.
