Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Oracle database management in both on-premises and cloud environments, along with strong My SQL DBA experience (on-premises only). This role involves responsibilities as both a Physical and Application DBA, with an emphasis on database design, clustering, and application scripting. Candidates with Oracle and My SQL certifications are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain Oracle databases in on-premises and cloud settings.

Handle My SQL databases in on-premises environments.

Perform database installations, upgrades, and patching for Oracle and My SQL.

Design and implement database solutions, including clustering for high availability and disaster recovery.

Monitor database performance and perform tuning for optimal performance.

Support database backups, recovery, and migration processes.

Develop and maintain scripts for database automation, maintenance, and monitoring.

Collaborate with development teams to assist with database design, schema changes, and query optimization.

Ensure data security, database integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Provide 24/7 on-call support for database-related incidents as needed.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience as an Oracle DBA in both on-premises and cloud environments.

Proven experience as a My SQL DBA in on-premises environments.

Oracle and My SQL certifications are nice to have.

Strong understanding of database architecture, clustering, and high-availability solutions.

Proficiency in database design, implementation, and maintenance.

Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Hands-on experience with database performance tuning and optimization.

Knowledge of database security and data protection best practices.

Proficiency in scripting languages for database automation (e.g., Shell, Python or others).

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with additional RDBMS technologies (e.g., Postgre SQL, SQL Server) - added advantage.

Familiarity with database monitoring tools and solutions.

Experience in cloud platforms such as Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for Oracle databases.

Certifications

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate (OCA) - added advantage.

My SQL Database Administrator Certification - added advantage.
