Fundraising Manager

Job description
Education Aid International (EAI) is an Indonesian non-profit organization focused on providing educational assistance with a zero-interest loan system and working with local partners. The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for ensuring the financial sustainability of the foundation by identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with donors and partners. The role involves creating, planning, and executing strategies to secure funding for the organization’s core programs, with a special focus on the zero-interest education loan program. The Fundraising Manager will also oversee donor relations, ensure transparent reporting, and manage all fundraising campaigns and events.
Responsibilities
1. Fundraising Strategy Development:
· Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies that align with the foundation’s long-term sustainability goals.
· Set clear fundraising goals, identify potential funding sources, and create plans for achieving set targets.
· Research and identify donor prospects, including individuals, corporations, and philanthropic foundations.
2. Donor Management:
· Cultivate relationships with new and existing donors to secure ongoing and new funding opportunities.
· Maintain a donor database to track communications, donations, and reporting requirements.
· Ensure timely, accurate, and personalized communication with donors, including thank you letters, newsletters, and annual reports.
· Provide regular updates and reports to donors about the impact of their contributions.
3. Grant Writing and Proposal Development:
· Prepare high-quality grant applications and proposals to potential donors, foundations, and governmental entities.
· Ensure that proposals align with the organization's mission and meet the specific requirements of funding bodies.
· Track deadlines, submit necessary reports, and ensure all compliance requirements are met.
4. Event Planning and Campaign Management:
· Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events, including donor appreciation events, charity auctions, and partner engagement activities.
· Lead targeted fundraising campaigns through multiple channels, including social media, email, and direct mailing.
· Work with the program team to create fundraising materials and coordinate outreach efforts.
5. Sustainability Planning:
· Develop a financial sustainability plan to ensure the foundation's long-term viability and impact.
· Identify opportunities for corporate sponsorships and partnerships that align with the foundation’s mission.
· Explore innovative fundraising mechanisms such as recurring donations, endowment funds, and online crowdfunding.
6. Financial Reporting and Budgeting:
· Track and report all fundraising revenue and expenses.
· Collaborate with the finance consultant to ensure compliance with financial regulations and provide detailed financial reports on fundraising activities.
· Develop and monitor fundraising budgets, ensuring that all campaigns are cost-effective and yield maximum returns.
7. Stakeholder Engagement:
· Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including partners, media, and the local community.
· Engage with the board of trustees and key internal stakeholders to secure buy-in and support for fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
· Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit management.
· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising targets.
· Experience in grant writing, donor cultivation, and managing fundraising campaigns.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with donors and partners.
· Excellent organizational and project management skills.
· Proficient in using CRM systems and other fundraising tools.
· Ability to write compelling grant applications and proposals.
· Analytical and budgeting skills to track financial progress.
· Knowledge of fundraising laws and ethical standards.
· Demonstrated a strong professional interest in social and educational issues in Indonesia.
