Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Coordinator - AKSI Project

Key Responsibilities:
AKSI Project (Active Kids is Strong & Inclusive), previously known as BOKS Project, focuses on bolstering children’s healthy habits through fun and meaningful physical activities and nutrition education for school-aged children and difabled children in rural and urban areas in Indonesia. This project aligns with the government program namely “Gerakan Sekolah Sehat”/Healthy School Movement which intervenes 5S (Sehat Fisik, Sehat Gizi, Sehat Lingkungan, Sehat Imunisasi, Sehat Jiwa, dan Sehat Lingkungan).
The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Coordinator is responsible for planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning that contributes to the achievement of AKSI Project objectives. The MEL Coordinator will also ensure that all monitoring and evaluation process are in alignment with the Program Quality, Impact and Evidence Building, Program Accountability Framework and Collaborating, Learning and Adapting Framework. This position is expected in supporting the project team to demonstrate the impact of AKSI Project implementation.
This project is subject to donor funding acquisition process.
Strategy Development & Planning

Provide technical support of the preparation of Activity Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (AMEL) Plan, include to lead the development of annual PITT.

In close collaboration with MEL Team, develop monitoring and evaluation plan.
-
Facilitate cross-cutting theme integration into program monitoring and evaluations.
Resource Acquisition & Management/Project Management/Data Collection and Analysis
-
Coordinate the monthly project or activity data collection, compilation and analysis.
-
Coordinate other monitoring activities as required.

Support the development of data collection tools and methodology.

Support quality assurance of data and information collected by the program.
-
Conduct interviews or research, including setting up operational arrangements as required.

Support the management of the program’s information system, in particular data or information related to program/project performance results.

Liaise with program staff and key partners to gather information related to program activities, for example program stories, counter trafficking / justice sector data.

Collate and analyse information to support effective program performance monitoring and reporting.

Manage and implement agreed activities as scheduled.
Capacity Building/ Technical works
-
Develop and test contextually appropriate models to monitor, evaluate and learn documenting and disseminating lessons learned.

Train partner community groups in monitoring, evaluation and learning to build their capacity for management of local initiatives.

Participate in practitioner networks / working groups, as agreed with the Senior Program Manager, to ensure ongoing learning on good practices & sectoral standards relevant to assigned projects
Accountability & Quality Assurance/Reporting & Learning

Document and disseminate key lessons and strategies to appropriate stakeholders.

Coordinate internal reporting activities (e.g. monthly, semi-annually and annual) and support quality assurance of reports.

Support the program’s review and reflection activities, including operational arrangements as required.

Assist program team to understand the value of evidence-based reporting, the links between donor reporting requirements and quality of progress reporting.

Develop and deliver internal reports (monitoring, small research, program stories) as required.
Networking & Coordination
-
Building partnerships with various organizations, institutions and institutions at the village level that are built on a common focus to improve the welfare of children and families, especially for the most vulnerable children and families.

Providing accurate information about the identity of the organization.

Increasing understanding of the political situation in the service area in order to be able to respond well as a representative of the organization
Management & Leadership
-
Develop and manage annual performance agreement
-
Facilitate effective teamwork, coordination and work planning among coordinators, officers, and administrative staff to ensure program implementation as standard and achieved the target

Provide technical support for Project Coord in monitoring the context of target areas on an ongoing basis and recommend adjustments to program plans and management in light of changing context, resources, and opportunities.

Submits periodical/ monthly accomplishment report

Build and maintain positive spirit of working in team with other staff in respective unit and department

Provide Christian value and support to enrich the organization's life, faith, Christian commitments and ministry to the disadvantaged children and communities we seek to serve.

Be a role model and inspiration in managing work, communication and relationship with internal staff and external parties.

Manage all risks related to AKSI Project according to organization policies, guidelines, and standard. This includes risks in fraud, safeguarding, and other related risks
-
Ensure that project team understand and follow the WV child protection policy, that efforts are taken to respond promptly and appropriately to child protection incidents, and that awareness raising for prevention and reporting of child protection incidents occurs within the program area.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
Bachelor degree majoring social development, statistic or any other relevant field.
Required Professional Experience
-
Min. 3 years’ experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning work
-
Experience in conducting survey, analyze and survey report is an advantage.
-
Proven track record in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
-
Knowledge of and experience working with international donors, private sectors, and local government are an advantage.

Knowledge of and experience in Education Sector is an advantage
Required Language(s)
Ability use English both written and verbal.
Required travel and/or work environment accommodations
Ability to travel frequently within AKSI Project Locations.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or other Qualifications

Strong conceptual understanding in basic MEL functions, including good basic statistic

Good understanding of key aspects of development and humanitarian work.

Solid computer skills in Excel and online spreadsheet

Knowledge and experience on mobile data collection
