Accommodation Supervisor

Reports To: Accommodation Manager/Assistant Manager
General Description of Role:
· To ensure the highest standard of overall cleanliness of assigned areas of the hotel. To ensure that the overall housekeeping operation runs efficiently. To assist with rosters, training, purchasing, inventory and control of all housekeeping related items. Additionally, the Accommodation Supervisor is responsible for associate morale; guest focused hospitality, achieving budgetary goals, and interdepartmental relations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • To arrive for work on time dressed in full clean uniform, well groomed and presenting a professional appearance to our guests.
· To ensure yourself and all staff in your department comply with the Hotel Policy regarding
uniform and personal hygiene. Fire, Health & Safety, IT. Acceptance use, Mobile phone, GDPR Customer Care & Security and all other policies as outlined in the employee handbook and other supporting documentation.
  • To have correct knowledge and complete training required of all hotel systems that you are required to operate while on duty, opera, outlook, phone system, snap fix-maintenance software and any others, to work closely with each relevant team members to ensure correct standards are in place for each system
  • To attend all training courses/meetings as notified by management. Work with Housekeeping management team to maintain your departments sop and update regularly, host departmental meetings, minute and action when required in the absence of the housekeeping manager
  • To be aware of the days business both in Room Occupancy, Special Requirements and VIP needs, know the reports and where to access this information
  • To liaise with Reception regarding Room moves, VIP guests, Special Needs and act on any information given.
  • To liaise with Reception and guest relations regarding amenities, items for rooms, notes etc. and ensure items are placed in guest room on time
  • To issue keys, room lists, house assistant’s checklists and cleaning schedules to housekeeping staff at the beginning of their shift and collect them at end of shift.
  • To ensure that all staff service and replenish all rooms they are allocated to Hotel standards and assigned check lists completed
  • Ensure that trolleys/stores are kept clean and tidy at all times; trolleys to be re-stocked to standard prior to going off duty.
  • Ensure that staff separate any damaged linen/towels and return them to laundry as per SOP
  • To ensure staff hoover and dust Stairs and corridors throughout the hotel daily
  • Immediately report any theft from rooms/trolleys to Manager on Duty i.e. towels, folders etc and noting if door was opened/closed.
  • To ensure that any lost property is recorded correctly as per hotels SOP
  • Rooms/items requiring maintenance to be reported immediately to maintenance team and ensure tasks followed up and completed in timeline outlined
  • To report and where possible take action on any incidents or accidents.
  • To ensure and environmental/green initiatives set out by management are adhered to by the team, tasks like conserve power and heating; lights in rooms etc to be turned off when not in use.
  • To communicate our services and facilities to guests as required. Good knowledge of local attractions, things happening inside the hotel, armada history story, other offerings for cross selling so you can promote good interaction with customers amongst the housekeeping team
  • To deal with any customer complaints in a professional manner and to notify management of these.
  • To ensure that staff service public toilets and public areas to the agreed standard as requested and complete check lists assigned
  • To attend all training courses/meetings as notified to you by management.
  • To be familiar with and comply with all company policy regarding: Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Customer Care & Security as outlined in the employee handbook and other supporting documentation.
  • To promote awareness of fire, health, safety and security within the department for associates and guests.
  • To be flexible in your approach to work as during peak times it may be necessary to work in other related departments within the Hotel.
  • To perform any other duties as may be reasonably requested by management from time to time and at any other locations i.e Armada House etc.
  • To attend and participate in Service Excellence training day and to implement all trainings in your daily operations. Also, to attend a refresher training day for this annually.
  • In the spirit of Teamwork, assists Accommodation Assistants when/should the need arise.
Technical Skills/Abilities
· Previous experience of working in a service driven, customer focused environment
· Ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team.
· Motivated individual with strong work ethic
· Must be physically fit and able to bend, stoop and lift.
· He/she must be reliable and able to work flexible hours that will include weekends and holidays.
· Good IT knowledge, outlook, excel etc
· Full Drivers license would be beneficial
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From €30,160.00 per year
