AML Specialist

The successful candidate will join the AML Operations team as an AML Specialist responsible for the monitoring and investigation of suspicious financial activity across both customers and/or payments.
The AML Operations team which sits within the Payments & Financial Crime Operations Centre and encompasses the following areas; Customer AML Risk Assessment, Customer Due Diligence including Enhanced Due Diligence & Ongoing Customer Due Diligence, Sanctions Screening & Transaction Monitoring.
The team carry out and document detailed investigations and analysis of individual customers and their accounts to identify potential financial crime, counter terrorist financing, and ensure we remain compliant with regulatory obligations.


Responsibilities:
  • Use the Banks AML systems & technology to monitor for money laundering activity
  • Analyse information and data to identify sanctioned/ PEP/high risk customers
  • Investigation of non-obvious false positives, positive matches and escalating for further review and approval
  • Presentation of investigation results and recommended actions in a clear auditable manner within department SLAs
  • When necessary, performing analysis and developing a deeper understanding of EU/OFAC Sanctions requirements and implications
  • Take timely actions when particular events have been identified
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards
  • Provide timely accurate reports and MI to AML Management Team
  • Acting as a point of contact for AML/CFT queries for Gardaí, Revenue and other key internal and external customers and providing advice on related queries
  • Maintain very high standards in your work, performing checks, escalating where appropriate, and identifying operational AML gaps.
  • Effective management & adjudication of customer complaints
Requirements:
Essential:
  • At least 2 years experience within an AML or other relevant function/department
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT regulations & financial sanctions
  • Strong analytical, planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet established deadlines
  • Strong research skills including gathering and analysing data from multiple sources
Desired:
  • Proven communication and influencing skills
  • Able to exercise consistent judgement and document findings succinctly
  • Experience in AML Operating systems
  • 3rd level qualification is advantageous


This is a Permanent role based in PTSB's St Stephens Green (Hybrid option available in Republic of Ireland).
