Auto Conversions Limited Trading as Wilker Auto Conversions (Wilker) is one of the leading vehicle converters in Ireland and the UK and is now growing to become an internationally recognised vehicle conversion specialist. It is headquartered in Clara Co. Offaly and also has a production facility in Sandbach, Cheshire UK. Wilker provides vehicle conversions for the ambulance services, fire services, GARDA and military as well as customised vehicles for the commercial & industrial sectors. Our extensive customer base extends throughout Ireland, England, Scotland & Wales, The Isle of Wight and Jersey, with Exports to Cyprus, Trinidad & Tobago and Abu Dhabi.
Due to our continuous growth we are currently recruiting for the role of Auto –Electrical Technical Leader. The role is full time employment with the normal six month probationary period. The successful applicant must be capable of taking a leadership role in our manufacturing facility on the design and installation and testing of electronic and electrical systems both 12v and 240v on a wide variety of specialist vehicles and A&E Ambulances conversions.
Experience:
· Candidates must have a minimum experience of 3 to 4 years in a similar role.
· Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to lead multifunctional teams to progress and complete projects.
· Must possess a strong desire to learn and become proficient in all electrical aspects of vehicle conversions. On - the- job training in our electrical conversion processes will be provided by the company for the successful candidate.
Job Role:
1. The role is a key production role where you are required to get involved in the installations on the build as needed.
2. Responsible for electrical control board and sub-board build. This involves the initial layout of the boards, the bench sub-assembly of the boards and then the installation and wire-up on the vehicle, making sure that the board build and installation is done to the required standard
3. Electrical Control Systems (ECU’s): Liaise with ECU suppliers (Carnation, ATSR, RSG etc.) to obtain a robust Electrical Control System to enable that system to achieve the electrical functionality as agreed with the Customer build specification. Carry out Control System input/output mapping and eventual configuration of the systems using application software as provided by the Control system suppliers.
4. Carry out Programming of OEM vehicle interactive systems such as the Mercedes PSM
5. Build Processes:
a. Responsible for the planning, implementation and upkeep of the Electrical Processes for the build of each project; Draw up electrical process sheets detailing the tasks required according to the Build specification.
b. Assign and Train the Electrical operators to each task on their process sheet.
c. Refine the process times allotted to each task.
d. Continuously monitor the electrical stages on a daily basis to ensure the stages of work are completed right-first-time and to the correct quality standard.
e. Plan alternative arrangements on the line to cater for when operator absenteeism or time off occurs or when material shortages require such changes.
6. Develop electrical Functional Testing Protocol for the vehicles that are in build [on –line electrical inspections] and end of production line [Final Electrical Inspections]
7. Pre-Production : preparation for a build in conjunction with purchasing and engineering prior to project coming on line ;approximately 5 to 8 weeks in advance.
a. Reviewing the initial Tender Specification to formulate the Electrical Build specification for a project.
b. Assist with Sourcing of electrical parts to act as solutions for a particular problem or need that the Customer might have.
c. Responsible for loom design be it outsourced or built in house
d. Create the installation processes for each part of the build; Battery Management, for Camera systems, for Internal and external lighting, for siren systems and for any other electrical system on the Conversion
e. Electrical control board design and build (as per item 2 above)
8. Carry out Electrical Warranty and customer after sales Support services involving;
a. Problem solving and electrical trouble shooting.
b. From time to time travel on-site to a customer to investigate/ fix a reported fault on a vehicle or group of vehicles.
c. Carry out training programs internally with Employees and externally with Customers/ sub-contractors
9. In the role ensure House Keeping is kept at the required standards within your sphere of influence.
10. Ensure Health & Safety Procedures are followed and Reporting Systems are kept updated...
11. Any other project work as assigned.

Pay: €40,000.00-€55,000.00 per year
