Their purpose is to ensure no gaps in supply, including timely escalation as required, so that customer requirements, both internal and external are met.
Key Responsibilities;
- No interruption to production attributable to supply issues.
- Zero lost orders attributable to purchasing failures.
- Effective stock replenishment of raw materials and merchandised goods.
- On time in full (OTIF) delivery to customers.
- Place Purchase Orders with relevant supplier as required and according to process.
- Follow up order confirmations.
- Arrange transportation for orders where required and book in deliveries to Kingscourt and offsite storage facilities.
- Timely completion of all administrative requirements, including customs declarations, to ensure timely arrival of orders.
- Identify & minimise risks to supply chain to ensure on-time delivery to customers and to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Pro-active follow-up as required with relevant supplier to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Chair weekly service calls with suppliers of Metal & ISOVER products, and others as necessary
- Consult with Operations and Customer Service regarding material availability & any potential stock-out.
- Process and follow up on new vendor requests.
- Prepare, issue & follow up on Supplier Corrective Action Reports.
- Prepare any required reports, as necessary.
- Participate in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) activities as required.
- Maintain relevant procedures files, records and systems as required to ensure compliance.
- Supplier measurement and auditing activities
- Active participation in process improvement activities
- Supply Chain/Business or Administration qualification desirable .
- 3-4 years experience in a similar transactional Buyer or Buyer/Planner role.
- Advanced Excel especially VLook-ups & Pivot Tables.
- SAP or other ERP system experience desirable.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Problem- solving ability.
- Experience working successfully as a team player.
