Optis Insurances Limited is a leading Irish insurance intermediary and now part of the PIB Group which has ambitious plans to expand further in Ireland, the UK and across Europe. In support of this growth, Optis is currently recruiting for a permanent full-time position in our Claims team. Full training will be provided and the candidate will be supported with Continuous Professional Development.
The Role: Claims Handler
You will manage a portfolio of commercial claims and have exposure to the London/Lloyds markets. As a claims handler you are the first point of contact for our broker partners and insurers in respect of all claim activity. You will provide information and support to our clients whilst delivering quality, accuracy and adhering to all procedures, SLA’s and regulatory requirements.
The role is based at our Trim office and is available on a full-time permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Build positive relationships with colleagues and external partners
- Build and develop a good technical understanding of the claims process and the cover afforded by various insurance classes.
- To receive new claims advices from our producing brokers and obtain the relevant policy details from the correct placing system to identify the appropriate insurer
- Register new claims on the correct claims system
- Providing acknowledgement and claims reference to producing brokers
- Advising Insurers of new claim through already established procedures
- Maintaining and updating of the Claims System
- Full administration support to Claims Managers, Insurers, TPA’s and Loss Adjusters to ensure a high level of service
- Preparing claims experience documentation at renewal
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of commercial claims handling a distinct advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Strong decision making and effective time management skills
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- A positive and professional attitude to customer service
- Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and flexibly when necessary
- High attention to detail and accurate record keeping skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Familiarity with Lloyds ECF and Websure systems (both preferable)
- APA/CIP qualification held or working towards.
- Previous experience in insurance or financial services industry a distinct advantage
