Green Rebel is now recruiting for the position of Commercial/Contracts Manager.
The Role:
Reporting to the COO, the Commercial/Contracts Manager will be responsible for supporting full lifecycle project management of surveying and data analytics activities Green Rebel undertakes from inception stage through to lessons learned, in order to support our clients to develop offshore wind farms. Responsibilities will include the preparation of cost estimates, building out bill of quantities, creating and managing a cost database, managing risk, managing invoices, variations, claims and tracking of financial performance and lessons learned. The Commercial/Contracts Manager will be working closely alongside the Projects team and surveying and data analytics subject matters experts in Green Rebel. The Commercial/Contracts Manager will be responsible for regular pricing of tenders, reviewing contracts, managing of project invoices, variation and measuring financial performance on project progress to both the Project Managers and to our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Business Development with pricing and estimating project cost, project risk, contingency and applying appropriate company margin to projects according to the strategy.
- Lead on the development of commercial documentation, process flows, strategy and improving the cost estimating approach for Green Rebel.
- Create, manage and control financial trackers and estimating tools to assist Green Rebel in tendering, managing costs during the projects and also when assessing previous project historical data.
- Undertake contract review from a commercial sense to identify, assess and report on specific commercial risks and opportunities.
- Support the creation and management of project budgets, suppliers and tracking of variations, claims and project costs using a structured change control process.
- Identify, analyse and manage project commercial risk, keep the risk register up to date and report commercial risk updates as needed.
- Use cost loaded scheduling on MS project as the basis for building cost estimate with the project managers.
- Work closely with finance, accounts and project management to manage project invoicing.
- Procure and manage external service support providers as and when required for certain activities.
- Undertake the lessons learned process on a regular basis and feed into continuous improvement.
- Build strong working relationships with Green Rebel staff, our clients and their representatives.
- Collaborate with Green Rebel employees from different departments on internal projects as part of the Green Rebel strategy.
- Provide regular project updates to the COO and Green Rebel clients.
- Create, present, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Attend daily, weekly meetings/calls and record minutes and meeting notes.
- Manage and maintain commercial documents using the Green Rebel document management system.
- Drive continuous improvement projects as required.
- Support certain deliverables of the Green Rebel Project Management strategy; and
- Perform other duties as Green Rebel may reasonably require.
Required:
- Good people and communication skills.
- Organised and able to drive project delivery.
- Ability to learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
- An interest in sustainability and renewable energy.
- Relevant third level qualification (Engineering, Environmental, Science etc).
- Project Management skills and understanding of basic tools and techniques.
- At least 5 years’ post qualification experience working on projects in a commercial capacity, ideally in either offshore, onshore wind and met ocean projects, utility projects, civil infrastructure, marine and / or renewables projects.
- Strong experience of commercial and contractual management.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully implement and execute programmes of work.
- Demonstrated ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
- Strong emphasis on creating and tracking project budgets and enhancing our processes.
- Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
- Ability to set own high standards of performance and delivering desired results.
- Has demonstrated an ability to with deal with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office application, including Microsoft Project.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: €60,000.00-€90,000.00 per year
