As a Compliance Officer, you are responsible alongside the wider Compliance Team for embedding a culture of compliance with relevant legislation into the day to day running of our business in Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland and improving the standards of compliance throughout the organisation.
We’re looking for an experienced Insurance Professional, APA qualified and fully competent in all things Regulatory.

Reporting to the Compliance Lead, your main responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to the provision of advice within the company covering all relevant legislation and Group/Company policies to ensure AXA Ireland remains compliant.
- Review of AXA advertisements, web sites and documentation to ensure compliance with 2012 Consumer Protection Code
- Engage with business units and supporting functions concerning ongoing obligations to the Minimum Competency Requirements with special focus on companywide procedures and recordkeeping relating to CPD.
- Contributes to the provision of guidance to other areas as required, based on interpretation of compliance obligations to facilitate development of new products, marketing literature, systems, etc.
- Manage all requests for information as required under the Data Protection Acts and Code of Practice for the Insurance Industry.
- Develop, review, and deliver appropriate training, paying particular attention to our obligations from the Central Bank in conjunction with business units and support functions. Deliver appropriate training for all new and existing members of staff as required.
- Develop & carry out a programme of compliance related action to ensure that the organisation complies with applicable consumer related regulations in Northern Ireland with special focus in the insurance conduct of business (ICOB”) issued by the FCA in the UK.
- Maintain a register of delegated authorities and conduct periodic reviews.
- Manage procedures regarding the appointment and termination of Insurance Intermediaries, including the maintenance of a register of Insurance Intermediaries
- Contribute to a good working relationship with AXA UK Group Compliance.
Your Profile
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum experience of 5 years in an insurance business environment, ideally with some exposure to compliance/regulatory matters.
- APA qualification is an essential with a commitment to progress to complete Professional Certificate in Compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills especially influencing and challenging people at all levels in the organisation to secure change of behaviour in compliance matters.
- Working knowledge of key processes, structures, and controls within the Company. (Internal Only)
- Knowledge of all relevant regulatory requirements including Consumer Protection Code, Minimum Competency Code, Data Protection Acts, relevant applicable general legislation, and any other regulatory requirements issued by the Central Bank of Ireland or the FCA.
- Well organised and capable of motivating others towards delivering key compliance objectives across the organization.
- Good MS Suite skills; Excel, Power Point, Word.
- Enthusiastic approach with a high level of drive and energy.
- Demonstrates a flexible work attitude and an ability to work within strict deadlines.
