Conference and Banqueting Manager

We are seeking to recruit a strong, charismatic Conference and Banqueting Manager to lead our C&B service team, one who can create the type of guest experiences that continue to set Neville Hotels apart from our competitors.

The Tower Hotel is Waterford's premier 4-star city centre hotel and is superbly located overlooking the Marina and Reginald's Tower. The hotel is just a 3-minute stroll from the city's shopping and entertainment hot spots, and the premier business district.



We are part of the Neville Hotel Group, a family-owned Irish Hotel Group with five iconic hotels. They are, the 4* Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, the 5* Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort in Wicklow, the 4* Kilkenny River Court Hotel, the 4* Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre in Waterford City, and the Ravenport Resort in Curracloe, Co Wexford.

The role: -



This is a fulltime position reporting to the Operations Manager and General Manager. The ideal candidate will have an F&B background, exceptional standards of service and guest care, and will manage costs within the hotel on a day-to-day basis. As Conference and Banqueting Manager, you will oversee all operational aspects of the department.



Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • To ensure that all C&B rooms are set out as per instructions received from the Events Office and the weekly function sheets.
  • To ensure all Conference Rooms in use are to be serviced during lunch times and breaks as per the company standards.
  • Working with the Events and Sales Managers to upsell where possible, meet and greet with wedding/banqueting enquiries, and carry out show rounds when required.
  • To ensure weekly rosters are completed on time each week to ensure that events are suitably covered and can be run efficiently whilst ensuring labour is within the agreed budget.
  • To be personable, approachable, and reliable, building relationships with guests as there first point of contact on the day of their event.
  • To develop your team, identify and action training needs, ensuring that training is documented accordingly and to assist in the development of staff.
  • Ensure that employees comply with service, uniform, personal appearance, and health and food safety standards.
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of forthcoming business and have planned accordingly.
  • Ensure that the hotel and grounds are immaculate at all times for weddings, events, guests & viewing appointments.
  • To ensure an environment exists which promotes employee morale and encourages the team to have pride and commitment in their area of work.
  • To carry out Duty Management shifts.


Requirements:


  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry and have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a management role.
  • The ability to work under pressure, demonstrate strong organizational skills and possess high levels of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Have a mature, positive, and pleasant manner.
  • Be capable of excellent upselling all areas of the hotel, and to upsell within the group.
  • Fluency of English is essential.
