The Team and the opportunity
As part of our Data Analytics and AI team, the Data Engineer role is pivotal in enabling our clients to derive significant value from their information assets. Through collaboration and domain expertise, our team embeds innovative data analytics solutions into existing business areas, transforming data into strategic assets.
We are looking for a Data Engineer who is passionate about leveraging data to solve complex problems and drive business outcomes. You will play a key role in driving growth by developing new and existing client relationships and delivering first-class customer experience on high-profile engagements.
The Data Analytics and AI team serve as trusted advisors, both practical and innovative, to embed innovative data analytics solutions into existing business areas and transforming data into strategic assets. Working across all industries, you’ll develop your career by communicating creative, strategic goals both
internally and externally. As a senior manager, the opportunity to assess and improve our clients’ reporting
policies and corporate governance processes will impact these ever-challenging areas during transformational and regulatory changes.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Leading diverse teams with varying skillsets, who use different Data and Analytics technologies.
- Adapting your leadership style to fit team, client, and cultural needs, they will look to you to anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues as appropriate.
- As an influential member of the team, you’ll create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel junior members of the team and help them develop.
- Statistical analysis and modelling tools such as SAS, SPSS, R or similar packages would be preferrable.
- Data manipulation languages such as SQL.
- Data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik View or Spotfire.
- Applying predictive modelling techniques to key business issues faced by our clients.

Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you’ll create innovative commercial insights for clients,
adapt methods and practices to fit operational, team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership.
To qualify for the role, you must have.
-
Strong academic record including a degree /MSc/Ph D in: Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science
/ Engineering. -
5 years of consulting or other relevant industry experience. • Data engineering experience including building data pipelines, data infrastructure design, algorithm
development and implementing cloud-based and on-prem data solutions. -
Experience with tools like SQL, MS Azure, Snowflake, etc and strong understanding of data modelling,
data quality, modelling, optimisation, data architecture and ETL processes. - Proficiency in Python, R, and other programming languages used in AI.

Experience of deployment and configuration of Dev Ops pipelines, code repositories, automated
testing etc.
Ideally, you will also have

The ability to demonstrated strength in data modelling, ETL development, data warehousing/lakes,
ability to supervise and develop others, managing projects, budgets, scope creep, expectations,
deliverables, and timelines. -
Be analytically minded and can assimilate and apply new techniques and knowledge quickly to deliver
insights and solve problems and communicate technical information in non-technical language. - A passion to contribute to the growth of the team.
- Proficiency in NLP techniques and tools for text analysis.
- Skills in image processing and computer vision algorithms.

Hand-on experience Advanced skills in Python for data manipulation, automation, and building data
pipelines. - Proficiency in Java or Scala for working with big data tools like Apache Spark
- Ability to write shell scripts for automating routine tasks and managing data workflows.
- Hand-on experience building using Orchestration tools such as ADF, SSIS, Airflow etc.
- Hands-on experience with cloud services, e.g., Azure Databricks, Google Cloud, AWS

Hands-on experience in working with Agile methods for software delivery e.g., Scrum, SAFE, Kanban,
Lean, TDD and CI/CD - It would be advantageous if you had attained data-related cloud certifications in Azure and/or AWS
