Deli Manager - Full-Time
Location: Corrib Oil Service Station in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo
Corrib Oil are seeking an experienced Deli Manager to lead our deli at our Ballinrobe location. This is a full-time role, and flexibility to meet our service station's operational needs is essential. About the Role
As our Deli Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving deli performance and achieving sales and hygiene targets. This role involves managing all aspects of the delicatessen area—from food safety and stock management to training and motivating your team. This position requires a proactive leader who is committed to creating an exceptional customer experience while ensuring compliance with HACCP and food hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities Team Management & Development

• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing deli team that values customers and delivers exceptional service.
• Oversee rostering to ensure optimal staff coverage within budget.
• Conduct regular training and refresher sessions on food hygiene and service standards.
• Promote teamship by fostering a motivated and collaborative team environment.

Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance

• Implement and maintain HACCP systems to ensure food safety and compliance with legislation.
• Monitor critical control points and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure regular cleaning of the deli area and equipment, maintaining the highest hygiene standards.
• Oversee waste management practices and uphold policies for handling fresh meats and perishables.

Stock & Inventory Management

• Manage stock control processes to maintain inventory accuracy, minimize waste, and prevent stock leakage.
• Ensure effective stock rotation and discard out-of-date items to maintain freshness.
• Implement systems to control shrinkage through effective waste reduction and damage management strategies.

Sales, Financial Management & Operations

• Achieve sales targets and ensure profitability by managing budgets and controlling overheads.
• Maximize deli sales through effective merchandising, promotions, and customer engagement.
• Maintain consistent operational standards in housekeeping, merchandising, and service to enhance the deli’s appeal.
• Handle customer feedback professionally, making improvements to exceed expectations.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in managing a fresh food department, ideally with supervisory experience in a retail setting.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene standards, with relevant qualifications.
• Proven skills in team leadership, planning, and problem-solving to manage deli operations effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage customers and build a cohesive team.
• Commercial acumen to react to market demands and enhance deli performance.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and high standards in service and food quality.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €35,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
