Energy Engineer / Energy Auditor

Plan Energy is a leading renewable energy and sustainability consultancy working across Ireland and the UK. We help public bodies and businesses transition to a low-carbon future through energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. As we expand, we are seeking 3 Energy Engineers to join our team, to support energy efficiency projects and contribute to Ireland’s climate goals.
The Role
As an Energy Officer, you will conduct on-site energy audits, assess energy systems, and develop energy-saving strategies for public and private sector clients. Your work will focus on identifying efficiency opportunities, recommending upgrades, and ensuring compliance with energy regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed energy audits of buildings and facilities.
Provide expert advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy options, and energy management practices.
Develop Registers of Opportunities to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Support the design and implementation of energy-saving projects.
Prepare and present reports on audit findings, offering actionable insights and cost-saving recommendations.
Collaborate with client Energy Management Teams to drive energy reduction initiatives.
Stay up to date with sustainable energy technologies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Candidate Profile
Essential

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 1-year relevant experience
Strong technical analysis and problem-solving abilities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Full clean driving licence and access to a car.

Desirable

Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certification.
Experience with Building Energy Ratings (BER) for non-domestic buildings.
Knowledge of CAD or GIS for energy system mapping.
Understanding of financial supports and incentives for retrofit projects.
Understanding of ISO50001 is a bonus

Pay: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
