Job Summary:
The Assistant Financial Controller will play a crucial role in the financial management of the company, assisting the Financial Controller in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial analysis. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with a strong background in finance and accounting, particularly within the med tech sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  
• Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of reports for management and stakeholders

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Collaborate in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and collections.
  
• Assist in managing cash flow and optimizing working capital.

Internal Controls:

• Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
  
• Assist in conducting regular audits and reviews of financial processes.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including cost analysis, profitability assessments, and investment evaluations.
  
• Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to enhance operational efficiency.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations and regulatory affairs, to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
  
• Assist in training and mentoring junior finance staff as needed.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and industry standards, ensuring the company’s compliance with all applicable laws.

Qualifications:

• Accounting qualification with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field a plus
• 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the med tech or healthcare industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
