Graduate Controls/Automation Engineer

With over 30 years’ experience in Industrial Automation, CG Controls has successfully designed, implemented and commissioned automation solutions in many of the leading industrial companies in Ireland, UK and Europe across a range of industries including medical devices, pharm and food and beverage. You will be joining our team of 33 engineering specialists that have a broad range of expertise in industrial automation, machine vision and validation services.

Reporting to the Senior Automation Engineer, the Graduate Automation Engineer
Responsibilities are:
- Assist in executing full software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Assist in the design, development, installation, commissioning, documentation, testing & validation of the automated control system and peripheral devices.
- Work as part of a team, liaise with internal and external (Client) personnel.
- Work within our own and our clients standard operating procedures.
- Adhere to all company and regulatory work practices
- Assist in maintaining and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes.
- Assist in document solutions by developing functional and software design specifications, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams
- Investigate and use new technologies where relevant by continually updating technical knowledge and skills
- The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of a wide variety of automation control projects across multiple sectors and disciplines
- Relevant third level qualification(s) such as Bsc in Computer Science, BEng in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or BEng in Automation
- Minimum 0 years relevant experience
- Some experience in implementing automation projects in Siemens Step7 or TIA Portal Step7 PLC Programming languages (LAD/SCL) an advantage
- Some experience in implementing SCADA or HMI projects in any of the market leading software packages (SIMATIC Win CC, Factory Talk View, Wonderware or i Fix) an advantage
- Some Database experience, such as MS SQL Server an advantage.
- A working knowledge of a CAD design package is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines including in house Engineering, Operations, Quality and Product Development, partners and contractors, as well as customer IT and Operations groups.
- Self motivated with an ability to organise your own time to efficiently and effectively deliver your assigned work.
- Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills in order to resolve or overcome challenges with new or existing systems.
- Positions are based in South Dublin, Ireland, you must be able to commute to our office in Dublin 14, D14 F258
- A full, clean drivers license is an advantage
- You must be eligible to work in the EU (EU Citizen or existing work Visa)

Pay: €25,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
