Key Account Manager FMCG

HOURS OF WORK
Full time - 37.5hrs per week on territory.

JOB OVERVIEW
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing key accounts. by developing and implementing sales strategies, negotiating contracts and maintaining strong client relationships. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align on brand strategy, promotions, and product positioning to meet the demands of the competitive FMCG landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive new business by exploring new channels, developing a route to market plan and working with NAM/National Business Controller to penetrate.
  • Delivering Sales Force Effectiveness projects these new channels.
  • Enable implementation of Sales Excellence through Brand training and Sales responsibilities based on territory and targets in these channels to include Convenience, Pharmacy, Forecourt and Wholesale channels.
  • Execute Brand guidelines and sales activations for each outlet type and have an adaptable; flexible approach depending on the Customer.
  • ·Maintain existing accounts and gain new accounts per priorities/objectives set, in respect of the allocated Budgets
  • Report on the sales and profitability and account initiatives to grow sales in your accounts on a weekly basis
  • Build customer relationship based on trust, expertise and reliability and Reach sales targets and defined sales KPIs
  • Recommend improvement in sales processes by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Driving fact based and analytical decision making in sales and represent the company/brands and the brand at different occasions (training, exhibition, events…).
  • Liaise with members of Senior Management in developing weekly, monthly, quarterly action plans and category plans for customers that are in line with the annual account plan and the overall company strategic plan.
  • Develop a relationship with each relevant member of the trading and supply chain teams in each of the key accounts. Also build relationships with managers of key stores at a local level.
GENERAL
  • Provide general support to management by being flexible to work additional hours and assist with overflow work from colleagues as needed to ensure that the business runs smoothly.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating and collaborating with customers, suppliers, colleagues and management.
  • Participate in all essential and required training to carry out your role efficiently and safely.
  • Participate in and attend departmental and Company meetings as required.
  • Ensure that the company health, safety and environmental policies are observed at all times when conducting duties or when escorting visitors/customers on site.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The competencies listed are appropriate to the role and are an illustration of the qualities that the Company requires. These areas will be considered in general assessments of your ability to fulfil your role and contribution as an effective member of the overall team.
Experience
  • 3-5 years sales experience within the FMCG sector and Drinks experience selling into Retail, Wholesale and independent retail and off license groups would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent verbal communication, numeric reasoning and personal organisational skills and ability to overcome objections and strong business acumen and proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and experience of operating in a fast-paced environment and resilient under pressure.
  • A confident communicator and ability to be flexible with different environments and a proven track record in the FMCG and Drinks sector.
  • Experience in category development or customer category development.
  • Ability to analyse data and drive informed decision making.
  • Ability to drive results by working collaboratively in a team structure.

Pay: €40,000.00 per year
