We are currently seeking a Night Porter to join the team at Castle Oaks House Hotel.
The Role: The Night Porter will be needed to work generally between 11.00 pm until 7.30am. These hours can vary and depend ultimately on the needs of the business. The role will also include light Kitchen cleaning duties.
Reporting to: You will report directly to the Hotel Opperations Manager and the Head Chef.
The Person: We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual with previous experience working in a hotel in reception or nights. The ideal candidate should have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, the ability to lead a team, and excellent communication skills. Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
The Hotel:
The Castle Oaks House Hotel and Estate is a stunning Georgian House built in the late eighteenth century. Located in the picturesque village of Castleconnell, just 5 minutes from the M7 motorway, our Georgian House is set in 26 acres of beautiful mature gardens & woodlands that lead down to the banks of the River Shannon. The Hotel boosts a combination of 20 Bedrooms in the Georgian House, 20 Courtyard Suites and a newly renovated leisure centre.

Key Responsibilities include:

• To ensure operations are carried out in line with department and Castle Oaks House Hotel standards while providing quality service to our guests in accordance with statutory and health and safety requirements to all colleagues and guests during the evening hours.
• To be responsible for the operations during the night while on shift
• To ensure all guests receive a genuine, warm, friendly, courteous welcome on arrival and during their stay
• To anticipate guests needs whenever possible to enhance quality service and in turn enhance guest satisfaction
• To ensure all guest queries are handled promptly and efficiently and all guest feedback is passed onto to Day team.
• To carry out departmental standards in accordance with the SOP Manual
• To ensure that the highest possible standard of personal hygiene, dress, appearance, body language and conduct is maintained at all times
• To ensure all accident, incidents and suspicious occurrences are reported to the relevant people and to assist in providing all relevant backup.
• To be familiar with and adhere to all rules and regulations of the hotel with specific regard to: Fire procedures, Health and safety at work, Security regulations
• To carry out the Night Audit
• To assist in positively promoting sales within the department and maximize every sales opportunity.
• To prepare of meeting rooms for the next business day.
• To ensure security of cash, stock and equipment and to carry out all agreed departmental/Hotel procedures
• Ensure the building is totally secure with the required number of security checks being carried-out each day & night.
• Ensure the general orderliness and cleanliness of the hotel, with routine cleaning of public areas
