We are now looking to expand our team with a Dispensary Assistant / Pharmacy Technician who is reliable, detail-oriented, and has experience working in a pharmacy setting.
This role is ideal for a qualified Pharmacy Technician or someone with significant dispensary experience who is looking for a flexible and rewarding opportunity.
Job Summary:
As a member of our dispensary team, you will work alongside other dispensary staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, assist in prescription preparation, and provide excellent customer service. The role offers flexible hours with 3 to 5 days of work per week and the possibility to cover for other technicians during holiday leave. Knowledge of MPS and HSE schemes is essential, and experience with blister packing is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispensary Operations:

• Assist with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Ensure accurate labelling and packaging of medications.
• Use the MPS system to manage patient records and process prescriptions.
• Maintain a clean and organized dispensary environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.

Blister Packing:

• Assist in blister packing of medications for patients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with dosage instructions.
• Monitor stock levels of blister packs and reorder supplies as necessary.

HSE Schemes:

• Have a solid understanding of HSE (Health Service Executive) schemes to assist in managing claims and patient eligibility.
• Help patients understand and access HSE benefits as needed.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other staff members to ensure the efficient running of the dispensary.
• Provide coverage and support for other technicians when they are on holiday leave.

Customer Service:

• Offer friendly, professional assistance to customers, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
• Answer queries about medications and prescriptions, referring customers to the pharmacist when necessary.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a busy dispensary is required.
• Knowledge of the MPS system (Medical Prescription Software) is helpful but not essential.
• Experience with blister packing is an advantage.
• Knowledge of HSE schemes is essential.
• Qualified Pharmacy Technician preferred, but candidates with significant dispensary experience without formal qualification will also be considered.
• Ability to work 3 to 5 days per week, including covering shifts for other team members on holiday leave.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
