We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Basic Grade Physiotherapist to join our team in CHO 7 CDNT 10 Mid-Kildare
Contract Type: Permanent Full Time contract
Contract Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary Scale: €43,276 to €57,653 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)
Annual Leave Entitlement:
Annual leave entitlement is 32 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.
Overview of the Post:
To work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to children aged 0-18 years and families within the region. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a physiotherapy service to include assessment diagnostics and intervention and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities. The post holder will be required to work across a variety of settings including the clinic, schools, preschools and special schools, children’s homes and community settings.

The successful candidate will have
Essential Criteria:
1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience:
a) Candidates for appointment must:
i. Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
ii. Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
AND
iii. Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Register Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
2. Annual registration
i. On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
ii. Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland.
iii. Be eligible to work in the state
iv. Valid driving licence for within the state / jurisdiction with access to own transfer in order to delivery services across a large geographical area
Desirable Criteria:
- At least 6 months experience in working with children with disabilities
- Experience in conducting Assessment of Need assessments
- Experience in prescribing and monitoring equipment
- Experience in provision of Hydrotherapy
- Experience of working in a community based setting.
- 1 year post qualification experience working in Paediatrics
- Be a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
- Experience working with children and their families
- Experience of a paediatric placement from undergraduate training
- Demonstrate a professional reasoning and behaviour with an understanding of the role of the Therapist.
- Demonstrates knowledge of theory and practice.
- Demonstrate an ability to work as part of an inter- disciplinary team
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Family Centred approach in the delivery of services to people with disabilities.
- Evidence of commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
