ALONE support older people to age at home. We provide direct, frontline services to people aged 60 and over, through support coordination, support and befriending, housing with support, and the application of assistive technology. We have a network of staff and more than 3,000 volunteers across the country We have been awarded Quality Marks from Volunteer Ireland, the ISO, the Charities Regulator and the Housing Regulatory Standard.


We are looking for a Project Accountant - to assist ALONE in a busy period. The individual should be an experience finance professional with annual reporting and data management skills to support the team with deliverables with adherence to all governance and processes within ALONE.


You will report directly to the Head of Finance Legal and Governance


Responsibilities

• Projects and Tasks assigned by the Head of Finance
• Support the Financial Controller in upgrading the Process and Procedures
• Evolve processes for Efficiencies and roll out to embed in BAU
• Support business case and implementation programme for integrating a platform for financial monthly reporting
  
• Any other duties within the general requirements of the above that may be assigned.

Essential skills & experience

• Experience of working in a Finance Environment with a management role.
• Accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, CIMA, CIPFA or ACCA)
• Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Knowledge of Xero or any equivalent Accounting package an advantage
• A proven record of communicating complex financial issues and models in a clear-cut, concise manner to all relevant stakeholders.
• Proven analytical and modelling skills and must be both commercially astute and a confident communicator.
• Proven ability to review and challenge assumptions within detailed financial forecasts.
• Detail-oriented with ability to drive process and procedure improvements.
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Self-motivated person who is committed to ALONE’s mission is essential.
• Able to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, discretion and respect is essential.
• Understanding of the not-for-profit sector would be beneficial.
