Quantitative Trading Internship: Summer 2025

Dublin

September 3, 2024

Our 10-week internship has been designed to give students an insight into working at one of the world's leading quantitative trading firms. Over the summer you'll get to see first-hand how your problem solving, and mathematical skills can be applied to build a successful career in trading.

Our education programme is widely recognised as being the best in the industry. We have a team of senior traders focused full time on your development, which we truly believe sets us apart from other firms. We'll start from the basics, so don't worry if you don't have a finance background - we'll teach you!

We combine in-depth classroom education with fun, interactive and complex trading games, whilst also having you work closely with experienced traders on the desk in real-world trading problems so that you can see how the material you are taught gets implemented in real situations. The trading scenarios we have require a diverse set of people and skills, and we'll match interns with a project that aligns with their skillset.

What we're looking for

Who You Are:
A Problem Solver. You enjoy solving puzzles and love it when you discover solutions to complex problems. You enjoy discussing ideas and working with others to find the optimal solution.

A Communicator. You enjoy building relationships with those you work closely with. You enjoy sharing ideas, expressing your thoughts, and listening to the views of others.

Ambitious. You’re someone that enjoys setting personal goals and giving your all to achieve them. Be it in Arts, Sports, Academics, or another passion you have, you’re not afraid to put in the effort to reach your full potential.

Numerical & Logical. When it comes to decision making, you use clear and sound reasoning. You’re rational and like to use numbers and data to come up with sensible solutions.

3rd or 4th year Student: Successful interns are invited back as graduates to join the Quantitative Trader Programme (our full-time graduate programme). Depending on when you graduate, you’ll be invited to join the QT Programme in either January or August 2026.

What’s In It For You:
Education: Throughout the internship you’ll have classes covering a vast range of topics (Finance, Options, Mock Trading, Game Theory, Tech, Trader Talks, Poker, Speaker Seminars, In-house trading games… the list goes on!) from some of the most experienced employees at Susquehanna.

Development: You will get to work with a wide range of people in the classroom and through your project work. People who share a passion for mathematics, problem-solving, game theory and technology with you.

Decision Making: Learn how to make great decisions. Using strategy games, like poker and several in-house games we’ve developed, you’ll learn how we leverage game theory to make better decisions in the financial markets.

Culture: Our non-hierarchical culture allows employees of every level to thrive. We buck the trend in the financial world – the environment is casual, collaborative and we focus on continuous development, no matter how long you’ve been at Susquehanna.

Perks: Based in Ireland’s Financial Services Centre, in the heart of Dublin’s city centre, our employees avail of free onsite catering, a games room, and a large in-house gym, to name but a few of our favourite perks. We organise weekly social activities during the summer for our interns and we’ll also provide summer interns, who aren’t from Dublin, with accommodation for the duration of the internship.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Ireland

Our Summer Internship is 10 weeks, and runs from late June to late August. Interns interested in 6-12 month placement, please highlight this in your CV and outline the dates you are looking for. We can host off-cycle internships starting in early January or late June.

** We hire for our Trading internship on a rolling basis, therefore interested candidates are strongly encouraged to apply early. **

Susquehanna is an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to diversity and inclusion throughout our recruitment process. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruitment process, please contact us.

Susquehanna does not accept unsolicited resumes from recruiters or search firms. Any resume or referral submitted in the absence of a signed agreement will become the property of Susquehanna and no fee will be paid.
