Come work with us! We are offering an exciting opportunity as a Seawater Operative in our Southwest Sites in Ireland. This will be a permanent position based at our Seawater sites – Ahabeg and Roancarraig – based in Bantry Bay, Co. Cork.
The successful candidate will be part of team, report directly to the Farm Manager and will have the opportunity to progress within our Seawater department.
This post is offered on a full time, permanent basis. The preferred candidate will work a 39hr week, any 5 days out of 7.

About the job:
This role is a crucial part of our operations process. We need our employees to strive for continuous improvement. The job includes, but is not limited to:

Working closely with the site manager and farming team to ensure the most efficient operations
Boat Handling/ Vessel Skippering

Feeding Stock

Harvesting and grading
Net changes
Assisting with treatments
Record keeping
Site set up and maintenance of nets, cages and other equipment
Environmental Monitoring
Weekly health checks of stock

The ideal candidate will have an interest in the aquaculture industry and a willingness to learn on the job, in addition to the following:

A skippers ticket and previous boat handling experience is highly desirable
Previous experience in farming or marine environment
Work flexibly to meet the demands of the job
A positive approach to this type of work – an interest in animal welfare is imperative
Respect for safe working practices
Strong communication skills
IT literacy
