Decision Management Program - Resiliency
Be part of the Operations & Technology Fraud Products team developing new capabilities for Master Card's Decision Management Platform, which serves as the core for multiple business solutions to combat fraud and validate cardholder identity. Our patented Java-based platform processes billions of transactions per month in tens of milliseconds using a multi-tiered, message-oriented approach for high performance and availability.

Role
  • Successfully deliver as part of a team on major projects and complex assignments with broad scope and long-term business implications.
  • Work closely with technical leads on assigned projects to assist in implementation tasks.
  • Assist with production support issues by acting as a subject matter expert in resolving incidents and problem tickets.
  • Innovate and develop new approaches to complex problems
  • Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.
  • Deliver cost effective technology solutions which align to standards, achieve business requirements, and are easy to maintain and operate.
  • Be an integral part of the Agile SAFe discover and elaboration sessions. Perform requirements and design reviews, peer code reviews and PCI security reviews to ensure compliance with Master Card standards.
  • Have strong ownership of your team's software and are deep in the maintenance characteristics, runtime properties and dependencies including hardware, operating system, and build.
  • Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a global environment.

All About You
  • Prior software development experience, particularly using Java and the Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology
  • Familiarity with integrating vendor and open-source products into an overall system
  • Familiarity with a variety of architectural patterns including multi-tiered web applications and high performance, high availability transaction processing systems
  • Previous experience developing and supporting a high performance, transaction processing system
  • Must provide the necessary skills to have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results.
  • Possesses strong communication skills - both verbal and written - and strong relationship, collaborative skills, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities and to work as a member of matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team.
  • Knowledge of software development processes including agile processes and test-driven development
  • Experience with the design and development of complex, multi-tier cloud native architectures.
  • Must be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and can function under pressure in an independent environment.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field

Essential Skills required:
  • Highly skilled in Java - Creating and debugging J2EE REST Web Services and Web Applications
  • Experience with Spring Framework (including Spring Boot)
  • Experience in developing highly resilient applications e.g. retry, throttling, circuit breaker.
  • Database experience including Oracle and SQL scripting
  • Experience writing unit test with Junit and Mockito - deep knowledge of the levels of testing - e.g. unit, integration, and system etc.
  • Experience with Maven, GIT, and Jenkins
  • Understanding of cloud computing knowledge of one or more platforms is a plus e.g. Pivotal Cloud F PCF, AWS.

Desirable Skills:
  • Message and event driven development experience e.g. MQ, Kafka
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting observability tools e.g. Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, open telemetry
  • Solaris/UNIX & Red Hat Linux
  • Experience integrating vendor and open-source products into an overall system
