Galway Plant and Tool Hire (GPT) is a one of Ireland’s largest and most successful plant and commercial vehicle hire specialists. We have 8 branches nationwide, serving the needs of both public and private sector customers.
GPT is part of The Briggs Equipment Group, a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. We currently have a Service Manager position based in our Waterford depot.
In this role you will be:

Managing the service function within the branch, this will include the maintenance, upkeep and servicing of all fleet assigned items.
Planning and coordinating work and assignments for the team of fitters, mechanics, and apprentices.
Handling any customer issues or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships.
Assisting with or performing administrative tasks, such as managing and updating invoices, processing new orders, and tracking inventory.
Supervising the preparation and readiness of branch-based fleet items prior to dispatch and upon return, supervising the assessment, inspection, and repair of items.
Applying your knowledge and mechanical experience to assist in problem solving.
Dispatching fitters and mechanics to breakdowns as required and monitoring the progress.
Managing vehicle maintenance plans and service/repair intervals.
Ordering and maintaining stocks of spare parts.
Ensuring the health and safety, and wellbeing of staff, working with local management to manage and monitor safety.

Strong industry knowledge of heavy and light goods vehicles.
Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
Computer literacy and good organisational skills.
Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills
The ability to work under pressure.
