Social Care Leader - Day Services

The primary purpose of this role is the efficient management of an assigned area of Day Services. This role will also involve the implementation of programmes for the people we support and the supervision and management of staff.
General Duties
- Have the flexibility to work across all of Day Services to meet the needs of the service.
- Take the lead role in setting day services strategy for the people we support.
- Play an active role in the wider development of day services as required.
- Promote best practice as per New Directions.
- To follow correct procedure for all incidents / accidents.
- Keep accurate records.
- Communicate with the line managers daily and provide up-to-date service reports.
- Promote innovation in service delivery throughout day services.
- Promote person-centredness throughout the service
- Degree (Hons Level 8 ) in Nursing, or Social Care Discipline or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience working in the area of intellectual disability.
- Must have knowledge of all relevant legislation and New Directions standards and a proven ability to implement same.
- Implement strategies to apply social role valorisation as a pathway for the people we support.
- Have a strong person-centred vision in the development of vocational and recreational supports in the community.
- Minimum of 1 year leadership and staff management experience and be able to demonstrate same.
- Post graduate qualification in management is desirable.
- A clean driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications & Candidates must meet the following criteria relevant to the role:
Experience • Degree (Hons Level 8) in Nursing, or Social Care Discipline or
an equivalent qualification.

Terms and Conditions of Employment
Social Care Leader
Remuneration Remuneration is in accordance with the
Department of Health consolidated pay scales.
Current Salary Scale: Social Care Leader
€52,441 - €61,241
Annual leave 24 Days Per Annum
Working week The hours allocated to this post are 39 hours
per week with a 7.8-hour standard working day,
exclusive of lunch breaks.
The allocation of these hours will be at the
discretion of the Director of Day Services and in
accordance with the needs of the service.
Probation All employees will be subject to a probationary
period of 6 months, with an extension if
required to 9 months. This probationary period
applies to all employees irrespective of their
role or type of role.
Garda Vetting Stewarts Care will carry out Garda vetting on all
new employees. An employee will not take up
employment with the organisation until the
Garda Vetting process has been completed and
the organisation is satisfied that such an
appointment does not pose a risk to the people
we support and employees.
