We're in urgent need of a qualified Sports / Deep Tissue Massage Therapist to become part of our team at Phoenix Massage Galway. This role offers part-time hours, 3-5 days a week, Minimum 10 hours per week, with an emphasis on evenings and weekends availability. Ideal candidates should possess the necessary qualifications, along with practical experience as a Deep Tissue/Sports Massage Therapist. Proficiency in English communication is a fundamental requirement for this position.
Ideal Qualities in Our Candidates
We're seeking individuals who meet the following criteria:

• Must have PPS number and be living in Ireland already. We are NOT offering this job to people seeking sponsorship from outside the EU.
• Experienced working in a clinic as a Deep Tissue/Sports Massage Therapist, holding additional qualifications in various Massage Therapy types like Pregnancy Massage, cupping, hot stones etc.
• Registered with the Irish Massage Therapist Association (we will cover this registration cost if you're not already registered).
• Possess an ITEC (or equivalent) Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy.
• Fluent in English with an Irish Working Permit.
• Confident in client rebooking, given the performance-based nature of the role.
• Minimum one year of paid Sports Massage Therapy experience in a dynamic setting post-college.
• Capable of administering up to 6 Massages in an 8-hour shift.

Job Description

• Offer 60, and 90-minute massage sessions for pre-booked and walk-in clients at our Galway location.
• Guide clients in selecting the most suitable massage types based on their needs.
• Conduct client consultations to understand symptoms and desired outcomes.
• Assess clients to pinpoint areas of tension or discomfort.
• Tailor sessions to address specific complaints or concerns.
• Utilise massage techniques on muscles and soft tissues.
• Adjust techniques to meet client preferences during treatments.
• Provide guidance on stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and posture improvement.
• Recommend massage schedules for recurring sessions.
• Document client progress and conditions.

Additional Information

• Starting salary for Massage Therapists at Phoenix Massage Galway during massage sessions is €18 per hour as employee or €35 for contractor position.
• Shifts consist of a 15-minute break between clients and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break if during 8 hour days
• Expectation to perform up to 6 massages in an 8-hour shift due to clinic demand.
