Worker Rights Organiser - Job Description
The Worker Rights Organiser will be responsible for reaching out to, advising and representing people that experience exploitation and high levels of non-compliance with employment rights and health and safety laws.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide direct representation and casework supports especially regarding employment/labour rights and compliance matters.
· To reach out and build relationships with workers across multiple nationalities and languages.
· Support and guide individuals and groups to develop and implement actions to assert and claim their rights.
· Assist people to develop their skills, knowledge and analysis through education sessions on employment rights, health and safety, organising.
· Assist in preparing and conducting research, surveys and reports.
Essential:
· Education to degree level in law or equivalent.
· Prior experience in advocacy and representation especially in employment/labour related compliance matters.
· Excellent working knowledge of Ireland’s employment rights and health and safety laws.
· Proficiency and/or working knowledge in additional languages.
· Capacity at using technology for documentation, data management, and virtual communication.
· A self-starter who has the ability to be creative, flexible and innovative.
· Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work in a diverse, multilingual and intercultural context.
Desirable
· Good working knowledge or Ireland’s immigration system and social welfare entitlements.
· Previous workplace or community organising experience
· Full clean drivers' licence
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: €42,800.00-€45,800.00 per year
