Director, Activation Tool Scouting Group

You will be part of the Novo Nordisk Japan, Partnership & Activation Tool Department. Located in Tokyo, Japan, this dynamic team serves all business units and fosters a collaborative and high-performance culture. You will manage one direct report and report directly to the Senior Director, Partnership & Activation Tool Department. The atmosphere is fast-paced and innovation-driven, providing ample opportunities to make a significant impact.
As a Director of Activation Tool Scouting Group at Novo Nordisk, you will:
- Scout and identify existing market solutions (apps, partners, services) to ad-dress unmet needs for patients, healthcare professionals (HCPs), and business teams, driving business growth across various portfolios.
- Lead the entire partnership process from scouting to contract signing, including feasibility assessments, Return on Investment (ROI) analysis, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project implementation and risk management.
- Develop a capable team with expertise in partnership scouting, fostering a culture of "test and learn" and cross-functional collaboration, while ensuring effective change management and continuous reporting of project outcomes.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with partners and activation tool providers, while aligning global strategies with the Japanese market to drive local business engagement and awareness of Novo Nordisk's Cardiometabolic products.
- Promote a high-performance culture by encouraging a learning mindset, fostering transparent communication between Region Japan, International Operation (IO), and Headquarter (HQ), and actively participating in both domestic and occasional international business travel as needed.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in relevant fields; an advanced business qualification (e.g., MBA) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, consumer goods, or regulated industries, with a track record in business development, key account management, sales, marketing, and business planning.
- Strong negotiation skills, ability to create networks and win-win solutions, and adapt quickly with a "fail fast" approach in unpredictable situations.
- Strong people management skills; assertive communicator with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities in native-level Japanese and high business-level English.
- Proven project management experience, entrepreneurial mindset, and proactive in delivering plans, evaluating ROI, and driving business outcomes through strong stakeholder relationships and agile learnings.
