At Farwaniya Hospital, we are committed to delivering top-tier patient care in pediatric sleep medicine. We offer a unique opportunity for a qualified Sleep Technologist to join our Pediatric Sleep Lab and be part of a dedicated team focused on improving pediatric sleep health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform overnight polysomnographic tests on pediatric patients to diagnose sleep disorders.
- Operate, prepare, and calibrate sleep diagnostic equipment for each sleep study, ensuring accurate monitoring of EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, respiratory events, and oxygen levels.
- Conduct multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT) and various titration studies (CPAP, Bi PAP, and ventilator support).
- Provide comprehensive patient education, explaining procedures and addressing concerns of patients and their families.
- Adhere to AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) scoring guidelines when interpreting sleep stages and physiological data.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and nurses, to evaluate sleep study results and create tailored treatment plans.
- Ensure the sleep lab maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for pediatric patients.
- Troubleshoot equipment and sensor issues during tests to ensure consistent data quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy with a strong academic record.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification.
- Solid knowledge of pediatric sleep disorders and proficiency in sleep scoring methodologies.
- Technical expertise in using polysomnographic equipment and software.
- Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on pediatric care.
