BIM MANAGER
A BIM Manager (Building Information Modeling Manager) is responsible for overseeing and managing the digital modeling processes used in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of building projects.
Here is a typical job description:
Key Responsibilities:
  • BIM Strategy and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement BIM standards, workflows, and processes across all project stages.
  • Ensure that all project teams are following the agreed BIM execution plans and standards.
  • Coordination and Collaboration:
  • Lead coordination efforts between different disciplines (architecture, structure, MEP, etc.) using BIM models.
  • Manage clash detection and resolution processes to identify conflicts early in the design phase.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize design and construction.
  • BIM Model Management:
  • Oversee the creation, management, and maintenance of accurate 3D models throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that BIM models meet project requirements, are up to date, and reflect the latest design changes.
  • Supervise model integrity, quality control, and consistency across various software platforms.
  • Training and Support:
  • Provide training and support to staff and team members on BIM tools and methodologies.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in BIM technology and software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks).
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain BIM-related documentation such as execution plans, model protocols, and progress reports.
  • Ensure proper documentation of changes, model versions, and milestones.
  • Software and Technology Management:
  • Manage and maintain the BIM software and related technology, ensuring licenses are up-to-date and team members have appropriate access.
  • Evaluate new BIM tools, technologies, and innovations to improve project delivery.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Ensure that BIM models comply with relevant standards, such as ISO 19650, and local building regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure BIM data accuracy and quality.
Key Qualifications:
  • Education: Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in BIM coordination or management roles.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in BIM tools like Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Auto CAD, etc.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of building design and construction processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in clash detection, coordination, and data management.
Desirable:
  • Certification in BIM (e.g., from Autodesk or RICS).
  • Experience in leading large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 18 months
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
