We're looking for a vibrant and fun Communications Intern to support Zero Waste Malaysia's social media, particularly working on the Green Wira Programme! In this paid internship, you'll have the opportunity to take charge of content strategy, and execution and be involved in our flagship education programme, which aims to build more zero waste schools by empowering local educators.
Detailed Job Scope
(1) Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns across Zero Waste Malaysia's portfolio (20%), primarily assisting the Green Wira Programme (80%).
(2) Create and execute monthly content calendars to promote organisation values and programmes on various social media channels.
(3) Create compelling graphics, short-form videos, and write captions that speak to the organisation's target audience.
(4) Monitor social media metrics to identify high-performing ideas, track campaign performance, and contribute to reporting.
(5) Respond to comments and DMs on social media platforms in line with the organisation's tone of voice.
(6) Perform social media marketing research to generate ideas for original content.
(7) Keep up-to-date with social media trends, algorithms, and best practices.
(8) Support with outreach and marketing for adhoc activities: workshops, small-scale events, etc.
Skills/Experience
(1) Background in Marketing, Social Media or Communication.
(2) Experience creating social media content.
(3) Interest in sustainability, education and zero waste.
(4) Open to being on camera, and producing tiktoker style videos!
(5) Must be able to converse fluently in BM and English.
Great to have: Experience running paid ads.
Great to have: Experience managing social media/marketing campaigns.
Requirements:

• Available for a minimum of 4 months.
• Remote work, but will be required to travel for work and meetings in the Klang Valley (KL and Selangor).
• Able to commit to weekly online meetings and monthly physical meetups.
• Have own laptop and electronic devices for work.

Job Expectations

• Internship Period: Available to start November 2024.
• 40-hour flexible work week (might be required to work weekends as and when project requires).
• Intern will work closely with Programme Coordinator and report to Education Manager.
• Monthly Allowance Range of RM800 - RM1,000.
