Description
Primary Objective:
- Provide macroeconomic and foreign exchange (FX) analysis, deliver forecasts, and support clients with actionable insights across global and regional markets.
- Work closely with institutional investors, offering market commentary, contributing to research publications, and helping to shape investment strategies based on your analysis of economic trends, monetary policies, and FX markets.
Key Responsibilities:

Macroeconomic Analysis:
- Analyse global, regional, and country-specific economic trends, including GDP growth, inflation, employment, and trade flows. Knowledge of ASEAN economies will be a huge plus.
- Develop comprehensive macroeconomic reports and present findings to internal teams and external clients.
- Track key economic indicators and events such as central bank meetings, fiscal policies, and geopolitical developments that impact the FX markets.

FX Research & Strategy:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of currency markets, identifying key drivers of exchange rate movements for major and emerging market currencies.
- Develop and maintain FX models, forecasting tools, and trading strategies to assist in investment decision-making.
- Provide forecasts for currency pairs based on technical and fundamental analysis, using tools such as MACD, RSI, Bollinger Bands, Ichimoku Clouds, and Fibonacci retracements.

Client Engagement & Advisory:
- Prepare and present market reports, investment strategies, and trade ideas to clients, including hedge funds, asset managers, and institutional investors.
- Respond to client inquiries, offering insights into macroeconomic data and FX market trends.
- Collaborate with sales teams to support client relationships and provide timely updates on key economic and FX developments.

Publication & Commentary:
- Write insightful research reports, FX strategy notes, and market commentaries for distribution to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in regular client briefings, webcasts, and conference calls to discuss FX trends and economic outlooks.
- Contribute to the team’s broader research agenda, including thematic pieces on global macro trends and currency markets.

Collaborative Research:
- Work alongside equity and fixed income analysts to integrate macroeconomic and FX analysis with asset allocation and portfolio strategies.
- Support cross-functional projects related to capital flows, inflation targeting, and monetary policy impacts on various asset classes.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree - Economics, Finance or a related field.

- 8 - 10 years of experience in economic research, FX analysis, or a related role within investment banking, asset management, or financial services.
- Master’s Degree is preferred

Strong understanding of macroeconomic principles, monetary policy, and their impact on FX markets. - Proficiency in technical analysis, with experience using Bloomberg, Reuters, and other financial data platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to institutional clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality research under tight deadlines.
- Advanced data analysis skills, with proficiency in econometrics and financial modeling (e.g., Excel, Python, R).
- A deep understanding of global macro trends and the dynamics of emerging market currencies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex economic data into clear, actionable insights.
