Job Description


Cargobase is looking for a Group Accountant to lead the daily accounting operations and manage the full set of accounts. The successful candidate is a self-motivated and hard-working individual with demonstrable experience in managing day-to-day accounting, strong attention to detail and the desire to be a part of a fast-growing and successful scale-up in the logistics space.


As a key member of the Finance team, you will enjoy significant autonomy in a highly-supportive and collegial environment.


The role is based in Malaysia, has two direct reports, and reports to the Head of Strategy & Finance.


Responsibilities

• Manage day to day accounting functions (in Xero): maintain a system of accounts and keep records on all transactions, assets, and bank accounts
• Prepare and submit quarterly GST; annual tax filing
• Customer invoicing; manage A/R to ensure billings and collections are done in a timely manner
• Prepare monthly financial reports and cash flow forecasts
• Maintain records of foreign subsidiaries and prepare consolidated statements; liaise with external foreign parties (corporates secretary, tax, audit) to ensure statutory and tax compliance
• Preparation for the year-end audit and liaison with auditors
• Liaise with external parties such as auditor, tax consultants, and corporate secretary
• Payroll and HR administration, incl. timely submission of monthly CPF/EPF and tax filings of employees

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA)
• At least 5 years relevant experience in accounting and finance
• Knowledge of Xero accounting system
• Experience in having managed both finance and administration functions in a small- or medium-sized business in Singapore and/or Malaysia
• Pro-active, able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Highly organized and structured with attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
