IT Integration Solutions Specialist

Job Summary:
EDITE is actively seeking a qualified and reliable integration developer to be part of the team to design, develop, and maintain integrations between our internal systems and external partners using a combination of SOAP and REST APIs. You will play a critical role in ensuring seamless data flow across our ecosystem, enabling efficient communication and streamlined business processes. In addition, the chosen candidate will also be responsible for IT customer success support to guarantee the seamless and efficient utilization of the IT systems implemented for our users.
This position demands a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving proficiency, strong communication skills, and a commitment to a customer-centric approach. Training will be provided.
General Duties
(A) IT Integration Solutions
● Maintain, design, develop, and implement integrations between internal and external systems using SOAP and REST APIs.
● Analyse and understand API documentation to identify data models, endpoints, and functionalities.
● Develop robust and secure integration solutions adhering to best practices and coding standards.
● Handle data mapping and transformation between different systems.
● Write unit and integration tests to ensure the functionality and reliability of integrations.
● Troubleshoot and debug API-related issues, identifying and resolving errors efficiently.
● Document APIs and integrations clearly and concisely for future reference.
● Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in integration technologies.
● Collaborate with internal stakeholders (business analysts, developers, operations) to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
(B) IT Customer Success Support
● Issue Resolution: Assisting customers in resolving technical problems or challenges they encounter with Time Edit/EDITE products and services. This may involve troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, and providing step-by-step guidance to resolve problems.
● Technical Assistance: Offering expertise and guidance on the usage of Time Edit/EDITE software applications, hardware devices, and other IT tools. This can include help with installation, configuration, and maintenance.
● Customer Communication: Effective communication is crucial in IT customer support. Representatives need to communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner, adapting their language to the level of technical expertise of the customer.
● User Training: Providing training sessions or resources to help customers better understand and utilize Time Edit/EDITE. This proactive approach can reduce the likelihood of issues arising and enhance user competence.
● Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation, such as knowledge base articles, FAQs, and manuals, to assist both customers and support staff in finding solutions efficiently.
● Ticketing System Management: Using ticketing systems to log, track, and manage customer inquiries. This helps support teams prioritise and organize their work, ensuring that all customer issues are addressed in a timely manner
● Remote Assistance: Utilizing remote access tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues on a customer's device without the need for physical presence.
● SLA Support: Depending on the nature of the business, providing round-the-clock support to accommodate users in different time zones or ensure continuous service availability.
Qualifications:
● Minimum 2+ years of experience in developing integrations using SOAP and/or REST APIs.
● Programming Languages: Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for API development is essential. This could include Python, Java, Java Script (Node.js), Ruby, PHP, C#, or Go. Familiarity with frameworks and libraries specific to API development for your chosen language is also beneficial (e.g., Express.js for Node.js, Django or Flask for Python).
● API Design Principles: Understanding how APIs are designed and structured is crucial. This includes knowledge of RESTful APIs, API documentation standards like Open API (Swagger), authentication methods (e.g., OAuth), and data formats (e.g., JSON, XML).
● Web Technologies: Familiarity with HTTP requests and responses, web protocols, and HTML/CSS can be helpful for understanding how APIs interact with web applications.
● Version Control Systems: Using Git for version control is essential for managing code changes and collaborating effectively in a team environment.
● Development Tools: Knowing how to use debugging tools and code editors efficiently streamlines the development process.
● Customer Service Software (would be advantageous) Like Zendesk, Jira or similar.
● Cloud Computing Platforms: Basic Knowledge of cloud platforms: Familiarity with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as many timetabling systems are hosted in the cloud.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills.
● Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Bonus Points:
● Experience with integration platforms (e.g., Mule Soft, Apigee)
● Knowledge of data security principles (e.g., OAuth, tokenization)
● Experience with cloud-based integrations
Remuneration Package:
● Base Salary: Based on experience and market rate.
● Performance-Based Bonuses: There will be performance-based bonuses based on project deliverables.
