Process Engineer

- Assist the superior with day-to-day operations and resources, such as people, consumables, raw materials (ore & intermediates), outputs, quality and so on.
- Assist the superior in the daily performance of smelting operation. Monitor stock of consumables and order accordingly.
- Coordinates with commercial on the importation of regulated tin ore which requires special approval from AELB.
- Daily planning and monitoring of smelting activities such as ore, slag, intermediates, housekeeping, machinery, preventive maintenance and so on.
- Assist with the machinery of furnace repairs, resource allocation and maintenance planning.
- To ensure that resources and consumables are sufficient to avoid any disruption in operations.
- To prevent any plant operations breakdowns, maintain and improve process instrumentation in the plant.
- To collaborate with other departments in order to have better plan on production activities (e.g., with Commercial, Lab-Ore Room, Engineering, HR, etc)
- To monitor and create reports on the movement of plant intermediates and stocks from furnaces, rotary furnaces, roasters, and leaching plants among other things.
- Ensures that subordinate staff are properly trained, motivated and instructed in their duties, and supervises work, discipline and monitors and accesses performance of staff.
- Keeps plant and equipment in his areas of responsibility in good order and operational condition. Recommends repair or replacement when necessary.
- Plan direct the various operations to ensure that the area under his responsibilities operate smoothly.
- Responsible for all instrumentation (non-electrical) in the smelter.
- Responsible for ensuring that smelting targets as set out are achieved.
- Ensures that accurate operational records are kept and maintained. Analyses record for inefficiencies and implement corrective action.
- Keep track of slag migration for commercial and/or waste disposal needs (Tantalum bearing slag).
- Participate in the Safety Committee and support the Company’s Safety & Health actions and needs.
- To participate in OHS program established by the Company.
