Chassis Design & Release Engineer

We are looking for a Chassis Design & Release Engineer (Structures Engineer, Cradles).
General activities:
The Chassis D&R Engineer is responsible for the component and system level design, development, validation, timing and production release of the following areas: chassis vehicle adaptation components (skid plates, tow hooks, trailer hitches, and winches), Steering Systems, Chassis suspension (cradles, crossmembers, and sub-frames), tire vehicle lines, Wheels and Wheel Trim. This includes ownership of all aspects of the early design to ensure all system and vehicle level functional objectives are met and also performing the component and system level validation testing. Other aspects of the job include managing overall release of the components including the Bill of Material, CAD drawings, component/system/vehicle level validation testing, engineering change management, Design Verification Plan, and testing. Additional duties will include issuing engineering change notices, reviewing/approving FMEAs, DVP&Rs, support of prototype builds, issue resolution, PPAP, and launch production support.

Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- English B2 minimum.
- 5-8 yrs of engineering automotive component experience designing and developing on the following: (Structures Engineer, Cradles).
- Experience designing and developing on the following: --> Chassis components, Chassis structural parts, Steering systems, Suspension systems or overall Chassis (components or systems).
- CAD experience with Unigraphics NX, Catia V5 and Teamcenter in vehicle packaging and design of components.
- Previous experience with the design, validation and manufacturing of stamped steel components, welded assemblies, and castings is desired.
- Knowledgeable regarding high strength steels/ aluminum forming processes, weld parameters and GD&T.
- Knowledge and experience with composites and composite production processes• Experience with OEM or supplier on design and release.
- Experience/knowledge with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and validation plans.
- Bo M’s creation and edition.
- Previous experience and knowledge of physical system testing of structural components.
- Experience with component and system design, development and validation including system level bench testing and vehicle level testing for steering systems.
- Technical understanding of virtual design of structural components - CAE for Fatigue and strength modelling.
- Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Green/Black Belt
- BIW in-plant launch experience is a plus
- CAE/Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) knowledge
- Knowledge or experience of CAN/LIN bus and circuit analysis
- Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook)
- CATIA V5 knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of Casting and Injection Molding processes is a plus
- Possibility of traveling, valid passport, and visa preferable.
