Graphic Designer
Position: Independent Contractor
Location: New York City, NY
Compensation: Hourly Range $85-$100 Per Hour

Our high-stakes projects include work at the local, regional, and national levels, focusing on the practice areas of energy, water, marine resources, land use and natural resources, community and regional planning, transportation, technology, and equity and inclusion. Kearns & West has nearly 120,team members, in areas spanning the country, including in Los Angeles, San Juan Capistrano, Riverside, and San Diego in Southern California and further beyond in Sacramento, San Francisco, Portland, Denver, New York City, and Washington, DC.
We are seeking Requests for Qualifications from independent graphic designers based in the New York City region W/MBEs Graphic designers are strongly encouraged to apply. Shortlisted vendors may also be contacted for future projects at Kearns & West.
Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop).
• Experience in translating design briefs into outputs that meet client objectives.
• Experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Interest or familiarity with accessibility guidelines for print and digital materials.
• Experience in designing for diverse user needs and preferences.
• Experience in typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to create clear and visually appealing graphics and/or illustrations.
• Understanding of print production processes and requirements.
• Experience in developing website and motion graphics (preferred but not required)
• Ability to solve design challenges creatively and efficiently.
• Portfolio samples (preferably demonstrating experience with governments, nonprofits or DEI initiatives)
• A resume or summary of experiences
• Familiarity with 508 Compliance

COMPENSATION:
Hourly Range: $85-$100 Per Hour
