Responsibilities:
- Support the HR Manager across various functions including compliance, wage/benefit administration, and employee relations to ensure each department receives the necessary guidance and support to meet business objectives.
- Address employee relations issues, including conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
- Provide specialized assistance in employee relations for both Union and Non-Union employees, offering additional support to Departmental and Executive Managers as required.
- Assist in onboarding processes (orientation, new hire paperwork, welcome tours, I-9 verifications).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local laws, and regulations. Provide guidance and counseling to managers and employees as needed.
- Familiarity with EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission), ADA, and employment laws.
- Skilled in managing sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact, particularly with department managers and team members.
- Develop and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
- Assist in coordinating performance appraisal processes, ensuring timely feedback and goal setting.
- Manage HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data entry and maintenance.
- Prepare reports related to HR metrics, such as turnover rates, staffing levels, and training completion.
- Capable of managing multiple HR projects, such as organizational restructuring, mergers/acquisitions, or diversity initiatives under time constraints.
- Assist with compensation analysis, salary benchmarking, and pay structure adjustments.
- Collaborate with other HR members on updating policies in the employee handbook, as necessary.
- Develop and implement initiatives to foster employee engagement and morale.
- Organize employee events, recognition programs, and feedback mechanisms.
- 2-3 years of Human Resources experience in the Hospitality Industry.
- Bachelor's degree in human resource, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish required.
- PHR Certification preferred.
- Experience in a Union environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in one or more HRIS & ATS Systems.
- Skilled in MS Office; specifically, word, excel, and power point. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates should possess a service-oriented, collaborative, creative, and charismatic demeanor.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that foster trust and confidence.
- Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Effective both independently and as part of a team.
- Estimated salary range: $70,000 - $75,000 annually.
