Summary of Responsibilities:
Perform Follow-up activities on billed accounts, ensure contracted payment rates are received. Responsible for timely and quality follow-up activity on assigned accounts. Willing to train.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assure Third Party Knowledge Base of Payer Regulations through Educational Sessions, Self Educational activities and payer documentation.
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid Governmental Benefits & all other Third Party Insurance Billing Rules & Regulations.
  • Submit Primary/Secondary Insurance and Follow- Up on same.
  • Perform follow-up Third Party Balance Due Accounts
  • Contact Third Party Payers via website portals, telephone and /or correspondence thereby assuring of quality and quantity of work in a timely manner to obtain claim status.
  • Verify Insurance coverage/benefits and follow-up on billed insurance claims, analyze insurance EOBs/Remittance and ensure payments are in accordance with contracted rates and/or analyze the root cause of denials and submit denial appeals as needed.
  • Follow Federal Guidelines for processing MSPQ (Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire).
  • Communicate with account Guarantor on an as needed basis.
  • Clear and concise account notes are rquired to document the follow-up activity taken on each account.
  • Timely and quality billing and follow-up activity on assigned accounts and the ability to work an average of 30 - 40 accounts daily.
  • Performs all other duties as required and assigned.
Skills:
  • Willing to train.
  • 1-2 years prior Healthcare/Hospital Accounts Receivable or any appropriate combination is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA.
  • Participation in all educational activities, seminars and webinars.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned task as well as accept directions on given assignments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or GED
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • College Degree
  • 1-2 years prior health care experience
  • Computer proficiency, Type 35 wpm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
