Job description

• General responsibilities include: scheduling patients for registrations and departure or discharges, securing insurance information, necessary referrals and authorizations.
• Process registrations appropriately, using several electronic systems as necessary, including external service registration.
• Confirms, records and updates all appropriate demographics, related to third party reimbursement and insurance information.
• Ability to interview patients and perform administrative and clerical intake functions for the hospital, covering a variety of areas, as need.
• As liaison between patients and WHMC, commences the WHMC LEP Program as needed.
• Obtains patient signatures for general consents, release of information, HIPPA compliance, advanced directives and other documents as necessary.
• Verifies patients’ insurance coverage for eligibility for services to be rendered.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Knowledge of Third Party Reimbursement, ICD-9 & CPR coding basics.
• Type 45 mp minimum.
• Ability to prioritize duties based on established standards and criterion.
